Info Sessions

Join us at one of the following information sessions to learn more about the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship (MMUF) Program. Come meet Dr. Afia Ofori-Mensa, the director of Princeton's MMUF Program, as well as current MMUF Fellows and ask questions about the program and the application process. All information sessions will take place from 6-7PM at one of the Private Dining Rooms (PDR) in the residential colleges.

Application Help Sessions

We hold a series of group application help sessions. Each session will have a focus, though you can come to any one to ask questions about the application, or the MMUF program more broadly, and get personalized help from current Mellon Fellows and the MMUF program director on your materials. All sessions take place in Conference Room 111, Morrison Hall, unless otherwise noted. 

  • Monday, December 2, 2024 | Application Portal, Timeline + Letters of Recommendation | 4:45-6:45PM 
  • Tuesday, December 3, 2024 | Research Statement | 4:45-6:45PM 
  • Thursday, December 5, 2024 | Personal Statement | 4:45-6:45PM 
  • Friday, December 6, 2024 | Writing Sample + FAQ | 4:45-6:45PM 

 

  •  Monday, February 17, 2025: Wrap-up Write-on-Site. Join us from 9am - 9pm to work on your application with a MMUF Fellow there to answer questions and provide insight. Food will be provided. Location TBD

 

  • Monday, February 17, 2025: MMUF Applications Due. Applications must be submitted via the GPS portal no later than 11:59 PM EDT to receive consideration. 

 

Post Application Submission 

  • Monday, March 17- Thursday, March 20: Applicant Interviews. Select applicants will be invited to interview with the MMUF selection committee in person on Princeton's campus. 
  • Friday, March 21: Decision Day. You will be notified by the end of day via email about your application decision. 
  • Wednesday, April 2: All Mellon Meeting. You will meet the current MMUF cohorts at Princeton University and begin MMUF curricula. Please reserve 4:30-7:20pm on this day, April 9, 16,  and 23 and 5:00-7:00pm on May 7 for Mellon programming, should you be invited to the fellowship.
