Bio/Description
Destiny Crockett is an undergraduate student in the Class of 2017 at Princeton University, majoring in English and earning certificates in African American Studies, and Gender and Sexuality Studies. She is interested in the Black American literary tradition, and womanist theory. Her most recent research project was an exploration of the politics of aspiration and representation of Black women in Ebony magazine from 1963-1971. She is currently working on independent research on the radical political shift in Gwendolyn Brooks, and Brooks' invocation of Black Power in her poem "The Lovers of the Poor."
