Danielle Samake is a member of the class of 2024 from Maplewood, NJ studying Sociology with a certificate in Gender and Sexuality Studies. On campus, in addition to being a Mellon Mays Fellow, she is the President of the Undergraduate Sociology Committee, an RCA in Yeh College, a member of the Rose Castle Society, and a member of the all-high voice Wildcats Acapella. She is also involved in her local church, Ecclesia. Danielle's research interests surround the social and economic mobility of immigrant communities (with an emphasis on West African women) and modern gender relations across US subcultures. She is a big fan of music and nature and can often be found taking a walk with soul music flowing through her earbuds.
