Destiny Allen, a member of the class of 2024 at Princeton University is from Savannah, GA pursuing a major in Anthropology and certificates in African-American Studies and Chinese Language and Culture. She is a member of 2 dance groups on campus, KoKo Pops and Black Arts Company. Her research interests center around analyzing the portrayals of African-American popular culture ie. Hip-Hop music and Street dance, within Chinese media and how that impacts the global perception of African-Americans. She is very interested in delving into the history of hip-hop and street dance within America and exploring the emergence o hip-hop and street dance in China.
