Obiageri Amaechi is a fourth-year student from San Francisco, CA, who is pursuing an undergraduate degree in Psychology with a focus in Social Psychology and a certificate in Global Health Policy. As a Mellon Mays Residential Associate, her research interests are in the field of Medical Anthropology and center around using an interdisciplinary approach to explore health disparities, social determinants of health, and cultural competency. Her current work explores the implications and limitations of cultural competency as an initiative to reduce health disparities for marginalized populations.
