Yousef Elzalabany majored in Near Eastern Studies with a certificate in Humanistic Studies. He is interested in the intellectual history of the Arab and Islamicate world, as well as the history of transnational solidarity movements, particularly between regions of Latin America and the Middle East. He is a strong proponent the inclusion of the Middle Eastern intellectual tradition in the Western humanistic canon. In addition to being a Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellow, Yousef is also the recipient of a research fellowship from Princeton's Institute for International and Regional Studies. Outside of class, Yousef was a Residential College Advisor in Forbes College and a member of the Undergraduate Student Senate, as well as an involved member of the campus Muslim community.
